Gladiator Demonstrate Range On Transit EP

by Colin

After spending the last two years experimenting across sounds and genres, LA-based production duo Gladiator have put together a new EP that showcases their diversity. Transit opens with a dark and filthy trap sound that is reminiscent of their 2014 release Assembly Line. Listeners shouldn’t get to comfortable as the follow-up track is a near 180. ‘Brave’ which features Vindata & Mothica is an upbeat dance record that’s rich in feels and assured to have you hitting replay. Midway through the duo connect with DJ/Producer extraordinaire Four Colour Zack for a bolstering banger that contains earth shattering bass, icy synths and some sickly scratches. The album’s deepest and most entrancing effort is ‘Fable’. From the ominous intro, to the haunting vocals courtesy of Mark Johns and the medieval influenced drops, it establishes a mood that is dark yet entrancing. Transit closes with ‘Walls’ a jazz influenced club record that is anchored by a strong vocal performance courtesy of Michael O. The project is a testament to the duo’s range proving that they can conquer any sound or genre they choose. Stream Transit below and grab it via Fool’s Gold.
