Halifax isn’t the first city that comes to mind when you think about Canadian music, especially in the electronic space. Although the East Coast has birthed the likes of Skratch Bastid and Ryan Hemsworth it’s been a minute since any new blood has made waves. A new producer by the name of Mixre is looking to change that. He’s landed a few tracks in our FUXWITHITFRIDAYS but it’s his latest that has really caught our ear. ‘Window Pane / Know U’ is a two part track that is rich in feels and bass. It blends downtempo and emotive soundscapes with elements of club and trap. It takes a bit of disregard for regular structure and in doing so becomes something truly original. It’s primal and tender all the while being aggressive and ruthless. Stream and free download below.
