PREMIERE: Floret Loret’s ‘Dither’ Is A Dark and Engrossing Tale

by Colin

“I like telling stories.” It’s not something that you often hear when you ask a producer about their musical goals. But Floret Loret isn’t your typical producer. The Floridian is sharpening his sound on the cutting edge of the bass scene. Straying from typical bangers and pop-friendly sounds and instead opting to author engrossing musical tales. His latest work ‘Dither’ is an auditory odyssey unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. It packs a deep and brooding subterranean sound while maintaining a steady sense of adventure. It’s spelunking in the core of Proxima b, on a quest to uncover the distant world’s origins.

How does one go about crafting such a unique work? Complex layers of indecision of course. “‘Dither’ was inspired by previous tracks. It means to be indecisive. It went through 30-40 versions of different genres and takes. It originally was a future-ish electronic track that had a nice melody, but throughout the months I kept taking away the melodic components and chords and adding a darker, eerie sound to it. I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted to do with it, but eventually figured it out.” After one listen it’s clear that all of that refining really paid off.

Don’t get caught wrestling with your own indecision, bump ‘Dither’ right now and get lost in its dark beauty. The track is out now as part of phuture collective‘s issue ten: rebirth. You can grab the free download here.
