TeamSupreme co-founder Great Dane has been nothing short of unstoppable since he began the project way back in 2013. After teasing a couple of singles in the last few weeks, July 20th saw the release of his long-awaited fourth studio album titled Gamma Ray. A follow-up to his previous works Alpha Dog, Beta Cat and Great Dane, this newest project is another beautiful display of the LA-based artist’s true talents as a beat-maker. Having earned the respect of some of the most respected producers in the game, Gamma Ray showcases why Great Dane is proving himself to be worthy of that same title.
A quirky introductory conversation between a gamma ray and a (beta?) cat set the stage for the eclectic journey that is Gamma Ray. With no absence of Great Dane’s signature trap sound, every track on the project is a unique representation of what the producer is capable of bringing to life. Varying from heavy beats such as in ‘Sorry Steve’ to more ambient vibes such as in ‘Courteous’, the album is the perfect soundtrack for any trap-lover. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of Gamma Ray is how Great Dane is able to fully captivate the attention of listeners without the inclusion of too many vocals – the talent of a true musician.
