Fabolous is back with the third installment of his Soul Tape series, and this is an impressive body of work.

Fab has always had pretty slick bars and punches. This tape is packed with pretty fantastic bars and Fab does a good job displaying his skill over original and jacked beats. One of my favourite tracks off this tape is “Sacrifices”. He drops multi’s on multi’s (word to Big Daddy Kane). He opens the track with this:

Seeing your family scrambling, is sanity damaging/

gotta, make a move, cant just stand and be mannequin/

…and the bars keep coming.

When you bump this, you’ll notice there are some original beats that sample other great beats (e.g. Dead Presidents II and Bitch Dont Kill My Vibe). In fact, both Dead Presidents II and Bitch Dont Kill My Vibe get sampled on the track “The Get Back”. This joint goes – peep below.

I’ve been a Fabolous fan for a while and you can usually expect a similar flow on every track – I feel like recently he’s stepped a bit out of his comfort zone. The way he approaches some of these tracks like “Foreigners” is pretty dope aside from the auto-tune. This is another beat that samples an existing smash. Producer CT Beats samples Fat Joe’s “My Lifestyle” and combines it with a 2013 drum kit. That infectous Meek Mill flow shines through and he kind of does it better than Meek (but that’s only cause Meek auto-tuned the shit out of his voice).

There are some solid features on this project including Jadakiss, Ryan Leslie and of course Meek Mill. One of best features is Jeezy on the track “You Know”. He talks that shit and it comes through the speakers nice.

Overall, this tape is a great listen. Dope bars, good flows and good delivery – over some cool ass beats? You got yourself a banger. No need to list off the tracks – just take it in.
