ZHU – Faded.

by FUXWITHIT

Just under a month ago an unnamed artist sent his music out to some of the biggest blogs on the net. The tracks were the amazing ‘Moves Like Ms Jackson (Outkast Cover)’ and ‘Superfriends.’ You can check them both out below. The quality of the music and shroud of mystery instantly had the internet buzzing. Rumors began to build and everyone was making their best guesses. “Is his name Z? (The artwork for both songs contained a large Z within a flag shape)”. “Is it a secret collaboration between well-known producers or a pseudonym for a solo act?”

After about a week of anticipation and obscurity it was revealed that the man behind the music was a LA based singer/producer by the name of ZHU. The artist stated that the reason for his anonymity was that he wanted the music to speak for itself. An interesting strategy and one that has definitely paid off, building a ton of well deserved hype. If this is your first time hearing ZHU you’ll be pleasantly surprised. The closest thing I could liken his sound to is if Disclosure were to remix the Weekend.

Today he released his third effort entitled ‘Faded.’ and it does not disappoint. Keeping inline with his first two releases, the song features some serious bass, majestic vocals and an infectiousness that defies genre barriers. Whether you’re a fan of R&B, Rock, Electronica, Rap, or the many sub-genres of EDM, it’s hard not to enjoy this. Stream below.

ZHU is still relatively unknown but considering the quality of the three songs he has released so far, I could see him being one of the biggest breakout stars of 2014. Get familiar by streaming his earlier two releases below and give him some support on Facebook and Twitter.
