Y’all know who! For this weeks #tbt series we look back at one of the illest back and fourth tracks from Brooklyn native Fabolous. The original track, Keeping It Gangsta was a smash. It actually got spins on the radio back in ’03 when the album dropped. But its the remix, the bonus track on the album, that really holds it down for the “gangsta” in us all. The remix features opening back and fourth bars from two members of The LOX – Jadakiss and Styles P. These guys kick the track off with some really dope bars. After the catchy, sing-along hook, Fabolous and Paul Cain trade bars. Fab outshines Paul Cain, but overall the collaborative verse is pretty dope. Next up are Billy Danze and Lil Fame from M.O.P. These cats always bringing high level energy to their verses and this time is no different. Check the track below. If you’ve heard this before from a DJ Clue mixtape you might recognize there’s an evil laugh soundbite missing from the intro, nonetheless, the track still goes and is definitely one of the best tracks from Fabolous.
