Happy Mother’s Day! Since dropping MMLP2, the Rap God has been touring in all parts of the world with acts including J.Cole and Action Bronson (see: Rapture 2014). For Mother’s Day, Em linked up with legendary director, Spike Lee for the Headlights visual. This song is actually really dope. It walks the listener through the transition of Marshall growing up with his mom, hating her throughout most of his life and eventually forgiving her and letting her know he still loves her. It’s an emotionally charged track and with Nate Ruess (lead singer of FUN) providing the vocals on the hook, it really comes together well. The highly publicized (through media and his music) relationship between Em and Debbie Mathers has generally been one in a negative light and this track really changes it all. Peep the visual below and after that, hug your Mom and let her know you love her.
