If you’re still not familiar with Quest, you better get acquainted. The Florida emcee recently released one of the best rap projects of the year in Searching Sylvan. Actually it’s the album of the year (so far) so don’t sleep. Now before you go ahead and bump that, you might as well check out his new track ‘Back & More’ which dropped today. It was originally meant for the album but didn’t make the final cut. Much like Searching Sylvan it’s deeply personal, touching and a pleasure to listen to. Over a downplayed piano beat Quest pays tribute to everyone who held him down as he struggled to make it as an artist. The following bars give a great sample of what to expect, “my loved ones cherish it with a passion, without you I know I’m nothing, my gratitude’s everlasting, whenever I’m discouraged, or think about quitting rapping, I remind myself of y’all , and that none of this could’ve happened, without you by my side…” Quest’s down to earth and honest storytelling abilities are his greatest asset and this track puts them on centre stage.
