Two weeks until Halifax Pop Explosion and I’m trying to force-feed myself all of the music that I could see that I’ve never heard. It’s definitely a normal routine for me. One of the several acts I’ve discovered during this routine is a young brother/sister duo from Edmonton, Alberta named Tennyson. Their track ‘You’re Cute’ was championed by Ryan Hemsworth’s ‘Secret Song’s’ label on SoundCloud, and now they’ve dropped another called ‘With You.’
Soft keys, jazzy percussion and interspersed vocal samples build the track to a climax of synth and ride cymbal before we’re brought back to the humble beginning. It’s not a dance track, but you’ll probably dance to it.
