If you haven’t caught on by now Logic is one of, if not the best rising stars in the game. With his debut album Under Pressure due out on Tuesday, I figured we might as well throw it back to his first mixtape Young, Broke & Infamous. The track is aptly titled “Wordplay” and sees the emcee going in over Michael Jackson’s classic Billie Jean. At first glance you may think how dare he try to get on this classic!? Take a deep breath, open your mind and press play. I will guarantee that this track will impress, if not amaze you. I mean just take a look at some of bars he lays:
“Maybe I’m a little psycho for hopping on the beat/ But the logical part of me telling me you feeling it B/ See I’m a lyrical entity blowing minds like Kennedy/ With controversial lines so everybody remember me/ I’m repping Maryland/ If you bite I’ll snap on you like a Terrapin/ Flyer than an airplane/ I’m just fucking around”
Keep in mind this track is off his first mixtape from 2010. Which begs the question “how the f*ck did it take him this long to blow if he was this nice back then”!? Not that it matters cause Logic is finally on and he’s about to kill the game. Enjoy the track and let us know your thoughts below.
