BADBADNOTGOOD x Ghostface x Elzhi - Gunshowers

BADBADNOTGOOD are three jazz musicians from Toronto, ON., who came together over a love of hip hop and rap. When they first started playing together, they posted some music to YouTube that was pieced together from Odd Future’s music. After seeing the videos online, Tyler the Creator helped make them viral and eventually they made some videos together. These videos were recorded in one of their basements in Toronto and accumulated more than 1 million views on YouTube. The other day, BADBADNOTGOOD dropped the second track from their upcoming record, ‘Sour Soul.’ The track is called ‘Gunshowers,’ and it contains verses from Wu alumni, Ghostface Killah and Detroit rapper Elzhi. Apparently, every track from ‘Sour Soul’ features Ghostface.

‘Gunshowers’ has the feel of an old western. It’s kicks off with some reverb guitar and lots of whammy bar guitar and quickly leads into Ghostface’s reliable rhymes. Soft harmonics and rolling bass riffs help maintain a constant head bob as Elzhi delivers the second verse, cutting in with ‘lines of cocaine and flow like bath salts.’ They definitely don’t take themselves too seriously. However, the live instrumentation and old school rap style is going to provide an amazing live performance that cannot be missed.

BADBADNOTGOOD perform with Ghostface Killah, Raekwon and Cam Smith at 7:00PM on Thursday October 23rd at the Halifax Forum Multi-Purpose Centre.
