Easily one of the best producers in the Trap/Bass realm, Baauer is gearing up to release a new EP entitled ß. The five track project will drop on November 3 via Lucky Me. But since it’s 2014, you can now stream the EP on Spotify prior to its release. ß sees the producer exploring a variety of new sounds all while staying true to his roots. Kicking things off is ‘One Touch’ which features AlunaGeorge and Rae Sremmurd. The track is infectious, gorgeous and gritty all in one. It’s an odd pairing at first glance or even listen, but the end result is perfect. ‘Floreana’ takes you into the depths of jungle with deep bass lines, a smattering of samples and subtle tribal elements. It’s not quite like anything you’ve ever heard before. ‘Boog’ kicks off with an exotic vocal sample that is quickly met by steady bass and drum kicks. The song further progresses into an inventive trapped out vibe.
With “I go stupid” vocals laced throughout and a generous helping of grunts ‘Swoopin’ is a hard-hitting turn up banger, set to light clubs on fire. The project closes with the ‘One Touch VIP’. Though it’s not quite as diverse as the original, it’s just as addictive. ß is one of the best EPs of 2014 and considering it clocks in at only 17 minutes, be prepared to bump this on repeat.
