Japanese Wallpaper is a moniker for Australian producer Gab Strum, a multi-instrumentalist who is starting to make waves. Last week, he dropped a remix EP in support of the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. It contains remixes from Sable, Qrion, Clubfeet, and several others. In particular, this remix of ‘Waves,’ by UV boi فوق بنفسجي catches my attention. I can’t help but be drawn to the happy/sad emotion that is only amplified by UV boi فوق بنفسجي’s synth’d out trumpet and barrage of high-hats and crash cymbals.
