For this week’s throwback track we’re taking it back ’99 with Mobb Deep’s ‘Quiet Storm’. Though the remix with Lil’ Kim is quite popular, we posted the original version which features 3 Prodigy verses, because, well, they’re fire. Havoc doesn’t offer a full 16 bars on this track but his addition on the hook is just as dope as his production on the beat. Prodigy kicks off the track with “I put my lifetime in between the paper’s lines” and immediately gets you rocking with him. The H.N.I.C.’s Queens swag pours through the whole song and even though at times the rhyme seems to fall off, the undeniable flow picks it right back up. Released as a part of the Mobb’s fourth effort Murda Muzik and the In Too Deep soundtrack, ‘Quiet Storm’ is a classic Mobb Deep record. Peep below. It’s the real.
