Yesterday I had the pleasure of celebrating Canada Day with a free concert headlined by Toronto rap legend Kardinal Offishall. As always, Kardi rocked the show with ease flexing his prowess as an entertainer and getting the crowd hype. He played out a ton of his recent hits and few older tunes but notably absent was his 2001 smash ‘BaKardi Slang’. Considering that, I decided it would be a perfect pick for today’s Tracks You May Have Missed post. If you’re not familiar with tune this was the anthem in the city when it dropped. With a Neptune’s-esq beat (produced by Solitaire) Kardi breaks down his slang game in a fashion reminiscent of Big l’s classic ‘Ebonics’. A few spins and you might just want bring some of it back.
