Craze & Four Color Zack call out the game with 2¢ Mix

by Colin

A little while back Craze and Four Colour Zack announced that they were collaborating on a mix that was going to change the game. Needless to say they set the stakes high and today they lived up to that promise with the release of their 2¢ Mix. Over the span of 30 minutes the two legendary DJs challenge listeners, flex their technical prowess and create a piece of music that truly exemplifies the power of DJing. The mix kicks off with a dizzying array of samples highlighting the misconceptions of DJing and the mindset that producing is more important than producing. An unrelenting “fuck Hardwelll” lets you know where they stand and also signifies that they’re pulling no punches. From there it goes into a mix of perfectly placed samples and tracks that show off their skills and flex their battle chops. A special routine dedicated to their disregard for DJ Mag’s Top 100 is an undeniable highlight. Taking a break to lighten the mood, they get into a party section dedicated to getting turnt. The mix takes another stance towards the end calling out the over saturated, recycled, coke raps that includes a trolling of ‘CoCo’ and some fierce shots at Rick Ross for his false persona. It’s a powerful piece of music that illustrates what’s wrong with today’s culture all while keeping it exciting and heavy hitting.  Listen and learn.
