A lot has changed in the past year for Sylvan LaCue. He parted ways with Visionary Music Group, changed his name (from QuESt) and held off releasing material for quite some time. Thankfully Sylvan has returned in full force to make his mark on 2015. After warming up with ‘The Watcher 3’ and ‘Studio City’ the Miami emcee has connected with Fortune for a new EP. Evangeline is a postlude to his upcoming full length project Far From Familiar. The collaboration is a perfect fit. Fortune crafts a backdrop that is soulful and futuristic with a strong trap influence. Sylvan does what he does best, painting vivid pictures of his personal experience. The experience he chooses to zero in on is his long distance relationship. Whether you’ve been through the experience or not, it’s relatable and enjoyable without being too sappy.
