Toronto Trio Keys N Krates have evolved greatly in the past few years. From their start as a local hip-hop band to becoming one of the most impressive live acts in electronic music. Along with the growth of their fan base has come a growth in their sound. From layering simple yet catchy vocals loops with hard hitting drums and infectious melodies, to writing music that’s truly moving. The evolution has never been more apparent than with their latest release ‘Nothing But Space’. The track opens with a downtempo emotional feel that’s punctuated immensely by the sentimental vocals courtesy of Aqui. The vocal chops and drum builds ready the track for the second act; an energetic drop the carries the emotional feel and strengthens the overall sound. It calms again, reverting to the familiar soundscape of the intro before intensifying once more. Just as you think it has reached its climax it pushes forth even stronger for a section that is guaranteed to destroy on their upcoming tour (see dates below). Midnight Mass is set to drop January 15th and it’s shaping up nicely, very nicely.
