Any time you flip Biggie you set yourself up for one of two possibilities: you either desecrate a legend or craft a sure fire banger. Thankfully Alexander Lewis ended up with the later on his new track ‘Dangerous’. The song centres around a sample from the iconic ‘Notorious Thugs’. The vocals lay the foundation with a gritty familiarity, while the production evolves immensely. The downtempo and minimalistic sound is obliterated with a viscous trap drop that blends heavy bass with hypnotizing synths and some vocal chops for good measure. It’s cuts like this that have made Alexander Lewis one of the brightest stars in the trap genre.
