Mr. Carmack’s ‘Pay (For What)’ is a certified trap classic. Some would argue that its iconic status should ensure that producers stay away from ever trying to rework it. Those people would be wrong. Alexander Lewis‘ Trombone flip is proof of this. From the very first bar the rework makes you sit up in your seat as it screams “this is going to epic”. As the familiar vocals are brought in, Lewis gives them room to breathe before bringing the brass back in for a sinister section backed by devastating bass.
