One of New Zealand’s finest production duos, Eastern Bloc, are back with a new EP. Double A sees them further expanding and refining their sound. ‘Astro Boy’ which features assistance from SoundCloud favourite Montell2099 is a drawn out, low key trap heater. The computer synths add a hypnotizing yet warming tone to the faint vocals bends and deep low end. Meanwhile ‘Knine’ opens with a cheery and sweet intro which is demolished by a raw vocal sample and some cavernous trap drops. As you adjust to the darkness things brighten once again, like the sun shining through a crack in a tomb. The cheery melodies are soon erased with a murderous drop.
