Stööki Sound Announce New EP and Label with New Single ‘Endz’

by Colin

London based trap lords Stööki Sound have been relatively quiet this summer. The reason behind that silence has finally been unveiled as the duo announce a new EP (Ösiris) and the launch of their label Ö.N.E (Öriginality Never Ends) Worldwide. The cherry on top is the taste of what they’ve been cooking up with their new single ‘Endz’. The track is built upon the dark Stööki Sound foundation while demonstrating their evolution. Most noteworthy is the live guitar courtesy of Cobi. The strings serve as the base, while a myriad of sounds dance, drift and creep across the track. We caught up with Stööki Sound for a quick chat to get some insight on their new EP, production plans and Öriginality Never Ends. Listen to ‘Endz’ and read the conversation below.

Tell us a little bit about the EP. What’s the direction and what can fans expect?

People can expect to hear a maturer sound on this new EP. We took a lot of time to develop our productions and used inspiration from touring around the world to evolve our music. This project showcases our new work and it was important to us when making it that it was cohesive and flows from start to finish kind of like a story. It also includes features and is the introduction of Stööki Sound’s very own Jelacee in the vocal game.

‘Endz’ features live guitar. Have you been incorporating more live instruments into your productions?

We’ve always been fans of using different worldly sounds and instruments and this was the first time we incorporated a recorded live instrument into our production. I think we will definitely do it more often because it adds a texture that you cant emulate using synths and really stand out in a track

Why did you decide to found a label? What makes Öriginality Never Ends different than other labels out?

It’s always been a dream to set up our own label. The timing felt right after a few years in the game and we were in the process of wrapping up our E.P. and figuring out how we wanted to put it out. We didn’t want to compromise our music or have to change things to conform to usual label restrictions so we decided to start our own. Staying true to your own sound is very important to us, so with the label we will give other artists the platform to do the same.

How often should we expect releases from the label?

We want the releases on the label to be organic and it’s important to us that Ö.N.E is a platform for artists to release innovative music that pushes boundaries. Endz was the first release and then the next will be our new E.P. We have received a lot of submissions since announcing the label which is great, so we are currently listening through them. We have a few artists we have worked with in the past who will be affiliated with the label. We want to create more of a family like T.D.E (Top Dawg Entertainment) and BBK (Boy Better Know) have done. Expect a lot of new music next year.
