Lido Builds ‘Everything’ Anticipation With ‘Murder’

by Colin

With Lido‘s Everything less than a month away (October 7th) the genius composer has graced fans with the second offering from the project entitled ‘Murder’. Opening with chopped and stuttered vocals, the repetition creates an air of confusion. The clearest section echos the words ‘hurt me’ until it morphs into a sound that feels like a final goodbye. As the strings smooth things out, everything slows. The track is stripped down and the vocals are more reflective, looking inward as if to try to make sense of what just occurred. It’s a slow walk down a cold street that becomes more and more tense as the weight of reality pushes down. That reality builds into a controlled anger that explodes into a wave of sonic emotion. The intensity is fleeting and dissipates into a sense of pensive calm, scored by an 80-piece orchestra. Somehow you can tell it’s the end of something incredible but the beginning of something far greater. What exactly that is, we’ll have to wait until October to discover. Listen to ‘Murder’ below and check out the visual.
