Mad Decent’s Scientists Resurrect Herobust’s ‘I’m Aloud’

by Mekabeth

Have you heard? Mad Decent has released a remix EP of Herobust’s I’m Aloud . With some of trap and bass’s most pioneering and freshest artists, this venture continues on Herobust‘s promised pivot into the no-man’s-land of electronic music’s misty, shadowed experimental-zone. Along with his VIP mix, Barely Alive, Spag Heddy, Wuki, and Da-bow stitch together hip-hop-esque vocals and deep electric wubbs to create a velutinous little creature that is ready to thrash and bang.

The variety and depth of mixing skills is evident as they each bring together many different classic dub-step sounds and hip-hop elements. Barely Alive’s remix of ‘Dirty Work’ is a more cerebral apparatus than Herobust’s banging VIP of ‘Skurt Reynolds’, and Da-bow’s rework of ‘Weigh Home’ is reminiscent of a husky R&B tune dropped into a bass-bath.

There is a little something for every one here. It is worth a close listen in order to appreciate the leaps Herobust is making with his new projects, and Mad Decent’s ability to bring stellar experimental artist together for us to enjoy in one sitting.
