With his Everything album due out next week (10/7), Lido has unleashed yet another stellar single in ‘Dye’. It’s Lido’s third single (see ‘Crazy’ & ‘Murder’) and by far his most vocally driven. Relying mostly on his own vocals, the lyrics are simple but catchy. The underlying production further propels this one forward, with the vocals serving as one piece of the complex musical puzzle. As is the case with the majority of Lido’s work, it’s the song’s progression that truly impresses. It’s divided into multiple acts, each conjuring specific emotions and visuals. The call and response in the mid section is strengthened by powerful drums and riveting bass. The intensity allows for the following stripped down break to be even more impactful. It’s the feeling of a cool breeze drifting through your ears and down your spine. With each single the sound of Everything becomes more clear and the anticipation further heightens.
