Sylvan LaCue is back with ‘Best Me’. The track gives us a taste of LaCue’s skills behind the boards. The production is stirring and understated with some strong drums to punch it up at the opportune times. But it isn’t the production that make this one stand out, it’s the bars. The cold feel has Sylvan reminiscing about life experiences; from childhood to teen years and recent days. It sounds as though he sipped a little too much and got lost in the feels. It’s a poignant self-reflection that illustrates what make Sylvan so special; his storytelling, honesty and relatability. It feels like an old friend pouring his heart out with a hint if optimism. Sylvan raps “all I want to do is be the best me,” and this truly is it.
