Nebbra has made a name for himself off a slew of incredible remixes. From Zeds Dead and Major Lazer to Lily Allen and Michl, he proved able to rework any sound into something special and unique. He actually caught my attention with his astounding remix of Party Thieves and ATLiens ‘Chief.’ Moving beyond the remix comes Nebbra’s debut EP You. The four track offering shows off his imaginative and expansive sound. The title track opens things with captivating vocals and powerful chords. It’s pop meets future bass in the best way possible. The emotion deepens with ‘Fire Away,’ a cut that is as dark and cold as a winter’s night. Muted vocals chops, stuttered drums and soul rattling bass will drag you into an emotional spiral. With ‘Gladiator’ Nebbra switches the sound, blending tribal undertones with insane space-aged trap. It’s a disorienting smasher that’s impossible not to enjoy. From the space battle that is ‘Gladiator’ Nebbra drops us ‘On The Moon’ for the finale. Distorted chords and echoed vocals give way to a future gospel sound that’s shredded by scattered synths and wobbles. Naysayers have been claiming that future bass is dead, Nebbra may have just resurrected it. Stream below and grab it via Deadbeats.
