Barclay Crenshaw’s ‘The Gene Sequence’ Is An Auditory Expedition Through Space And Time

by Colin

If there’s one thing we love at FUXWITHIT, it’s weird, forward-thinking sounds that push music’s bounds. The latest artist to fall within this spectrum is Barclay Crewnshaw. Crenshaw is a new project from house & techno legend and DIRTYBIRD co-founder Claude Von Stroke (it’s also his real name). The direction of the project is something between instrumental hip-hop and futuristic electronic sounds. It’s Prefuse 73, DJ Krush or Blockhead in 2050. His latest release ‘The Gene Sequence,’ is an auditory expedition through space and time. It’s an alien race crash landing on earth in 2600 BC and building the pyramids. It’s the struggle to come to terms with their new home and to keep in touch with their homeland. It’s a stunning voyage that is guaranteed to make you feel, while taking your mind beyond our own existence. Stream it below and look out for his upcoming album.
