Titling a track ‘Episode’ is a good way to raise some intrigue. At first glance it leaves you wondering what exactly it is in reference to. Is it a moment in time captured on record? The first installment of a greater series? Autograf’s latest turns out to be something different entirely. Like any good story, it doesn’t reveal it’s purpose from the jump. The opening is a chilled out, melodic blend of moving soundscapes with an underlying body of emotion. As familiar vocals begin to come into focus it’s clear that this in fact a new take on ‘The Next Episode’. Nate Dogg’s iconic vocals are unmistakable and despite the fact this song has been remixed to death, Autograf prove that with an inventive approach it is ready for new life. We didn’t need another ‘Next Episode’ flip, but after hearing this I’m immensely grateful that we got one. Stream below and grab that free download.
