ATL producer and trap OG Mayhem is back to show us the future. A pioneer in the (electronic) trap space, Mayhem has always worked to push the sound forward. As he gears up for the release of his upcoming album 2083, it seems he’s looking to take that even further. Today he unleashed the title track; a fittingly futuristic genre bender. With ‘2083’ Mayhem weaves together elements of future bass, trap and dubstep for a transcendent journey through space and time. It’s hopeful and optimistic, uncertain and confusing, and jarring and violent. Moving between these extremes with envelope-pushing sound design is what makes this so special.
