Big Wild has been a favourite of ours since we started the site. The combination of forward thinking electronic sounds, emotional appeal and his ability to channel the complex beauty of the natural world into musical form have made him a standout. Today he unleashes his debut EP Invincible. The 5 track effort demonstrates the aforementioned skills while expanding his sound to include exceptionally talented vocalists. ‘When I Get There’ and ‘Crickets’ serve as bookends; downtempo but still impressive opening and closings that give the project a full arc. ‘Empty Room’ is a bittersweet beauty that embodies the feelings of Spring and overcoming loss. ‘I Just Wanna’ is pure summer fun and easily the most upbeat cut on the record. If you loved ‘La Brisa’ and ‘Aftergold’ then this one is for you. Unsurprisingly the title track is the most powerful. iDA Hawk’s soulful vocals will transport you to another time and place while rolling waves of future bass consume you. Big Wild has been an artist on the come up for quite some time. With the release of Invincible he makes a strong statement that he’s here. Stream below and grab it via Foreign Family.
