2017 is set to be a banner year for French Kiwi Juice (FKJ). The producer, DJ & multi-instrumentalist ‘s debut album drops in less than a month and he’s lined up a massive US + Canada tour to follow.
It’s been a long time coming for FKJ. Since 2013 he’s released two EP’s on France’s venerable electronic label Roche. But his roots in music go all the back to age 14 when he recorded his first track in his uncle’s studio. Over the years he’s learned how to play a huge range of instruments including guitar, bass, saxophone & piano. Not only are these featured on his tracks but he’s also put out some of the most compelling “one man band” style videos on the net. With software controlled looping + sequencing functions & the above instruments you see him, produce and play a track from scratch all in real time. R&B, electronic and hip hop sounds get melded into his soulful sound palette.
Fans of his majestic casual-eque vibes are sure to get down with the latest track off his forthcoming album entitled ‘Skyline’. The drop is accompanied by a video starring the artist himself as he bikes with friends through an ethereal landscape. By utilizing one long steady shot & atmospheric lighting, director Cedric Dubourg captures the vibe perfectly.
