Stormzy Returns With ‘Big For Your Boots’

by FUXWITHIT

Fresh off the back of announcing the details for his debut album, GSAP – standing for Gang Signs & Prayer – Stormzy has dropped the video for his new track titled ‘Big For Your Boots.’

It’s been around nine months since we’ve had any new music from Stormy and besides a brief Twitter preview of his track ‘Cold,’ ‘Big For Your Boots’ marks the first single off the grime voice’s upcoming debut album, which arrives on February 24th.

‘Big for Your Boots’ is an excellent return to form for Stormzy and sees the introduction of producer Fraser T Smith alongside Spyro, who has previously guided the likes of Adele, Sam Smith, and Lily Allen. The addition of Smith adds a slight pop sheen to the UK garage production of the track, while Stormzy delivers stand-off rhymes aimed at his competition: “You’re getting way too big for your boots.’’

Directed by Daps, the visual enhances the British rapper’s track about embracing his humble origins and never getting too obsessed with fame. It also features Beats 1 DJ Julie Adenuga, grime photographer Vicky Grout and Stormzy’s girlfriend Maya Jama alongside him in South London’s legendary chicken shop chain Morley’s.
