Produced by Sylvan and frequent collaborator Wishlade, ‘Grateful’ embodies a laid-back vibe with sunset-inspired guitar riffs and steady bump. Sylvan looks inward with lyrics like, “I was but a young boy with a no dream, can’t nothing ruin my day/ Made a lot of progress in my lifetime, dog, I done came a long way/ I don’t ever stop to think about shit, dog, like why the fuck you so mad?/ Always want to talk about what I ain’t got instead of everything that I had.” LaCue is at his finest when he’s most honest and vulnerable and ‘Grateful’ captures that perfectly.
