Promnite has come a long way in the past few years. Originally started as a Jersey Club side project for Colta, the popularity eventually overtook his main project. Over the years Promnite has evolved from a SoundCloud producer making jersey flips of familiar tunes, to one of the most innovative producers out, blurring the lines between rap, trap and club music.
Promnite’s debut EP Snake Charmer embodies this to the fullest. Opening with the aggressive ‘Gunsmoke,’ the track sees some of the rawest up-and-coming rappers trading bars (Denzel Curry, Nell, J.K. The Reaper and Twelve’len) over slapping production. ‘Ride Around’ takes you to the Bay with Adam Vida skating over a bouncy bass-heavy banger. Switching up the style comes the Mark Johns assisted ‘Call Me’. Her stunning vocals dance with an upbeat and vibe-rich backdrop that feels like cruising down the California coast in a drop top. Closing things out comes ‘Cruise’n USA,’ a video game inspired knocker that LaDonnis stunts all over.
Snake Charmer is expertly crafted and original, demonstrating why Promnite is one of the best out right now.
