UZ’s Quality Goods Records label has been killing it since its inception and it only looks to be getting stronger. Adding to the strength is sumthin sumthin‘s stellar new EP AFTERGLOW. ‘Pink’ opens things up with a futuristic yet soulful feel that blends finger snaps and chopped vocals with booming bass. The result sounds as if you uploaded Kanye West’s brain into a production robot in 2040. ‘Lotus’ is a post-carmack trap heater that’s part spacey and part ancient beast. Getting even grittier comes ‘Hollow’ a full blown monster sent to wreak havoc on your eardrums. With tribal undertones and chest-pounding low end this one will leave you entranced and battered. Closing things out come the grime banger ‘Moves’. The chemistry with Snowy is incredible and results in a track that is Antarctic icy while remaining stupid hot. AFTERGLOW just proved sumthin sumthin is one of the best new producers out. Don’t sleep.
