Rezz is on fire lately, given that each new track from her upcoming album, Mass Manipulation, proves to be heavier than the last. This week’s album teaser sees the queen of bassy minimal tech joining forces with the Toronto enigma knodis, for ‘Premonition’ – a track which, as compared to ‘Diluted Brains‘ and ‘Relax‘, shows that it has a lot more to offer in terms of sonic complexity.
It has both a vivid sense of allure, as well as a soundscape which would make it perfect for a TRON sequel. Robotic synths and alien vocals create the perfect otherworldly escape, and are well-supplemented by a suspense-raising bassline that slowly crawls up your body; halfway through, the tables turn and the bass becomes the driving force which really shakes up the room.
