PURGE Continue Hot Streak With ‘828’ and ‘Catalyze’

by Colin

Since their debut EP last year, we’ve been telling everyone that PURGE are up next. The consistency of their work and the volume of releases are matched by few. Demonstrating this yet again come two new tracks from the mysterious duo. The first is ‘828.’ a powerful trap banger that actually began as a collaborative effort with the late Big Makk. The track has been in the works for over a year but they felt they needed to get it to a level that Makk would’ve been proud of before putting it out. Further honouring his legacy, PURGE unleashed ‘828’ on the anniversary of his passing. The track blendd perfectly pitched rap samples and deep and distorted bass with a sprinkling of emotive undertones to truly make it something special.

‘Catalyze’ switches things up a bit. Connecting with Holly, the track is devoid of any real vocals. It’s an experimental bass tune that’s dark and dirty. The bass is rugged, the percussion is abusive and the sound design is dripping. Stream both below and be sure to check out their EP Human if you missed it.
