LA’s Corey Baker, a.k.a. Kill Paris, has seemingly long stepped away from his ‘explosive, high-synth, emotional bass’ vibe of way back when, for a more introspective and serene feel – especially thanks to featured singer Dotter on his latest single.
The Swedish singer-songwriter comes in with a sultry voice which perfectly covers the passion-soaked lyrics. The soundscape has a tropical feel, without actually being tropical (or tropical house, for that matter). The bassline alone gives the song a getaway feel, with some choice percussions to resemble a coconut-sipping sort of mood. Throw in some space-inspired synthwork, and you’re on a trip to cosmic paradise with this one. The track ends with Corey’s signature keytar, for the perfect pinch of retro 80’s flair.
