Earlier this year Hydraulix set the game on fire with his masterful Twonk debut Madness. For some artists a release of that calibre would be enough to call it a year. Not Hydraulix. The Sydney based beatmaker has returned with yet another impressive body of work with his brand new Trippin EP. Picking up right where he left off, the Hatch assisted ‘Vibe Machine’ brings the bass. It’s a dark and dirty trap slapper with a foreign flair. The title track switches the tone by presenting a poppier leaning. Micah Jay’s smooth vocals make this festival and radio-ready while some thunderous drops help to ensure there’s just enough grit. For those looking to get back onto a harder direction, ‘Get Buck’ will not disappoint. The collaborative effort with up-and-coming talent HEKLER is the rawest and most rowdy cut here. Closing things out comes ‘Al Capone Em’. Riff Raff hops on beat with the ridiculous swagger that only he can provide. It’s wonky, weird and just what you’d expect from these two.
Oh and as if the EP wasn’t enough, Hydraulix just dropped another track with Brillz & Macntaj entitled ‘Fouth Kind’ which sounds like an insane alien invasion. Listen below.
