I’ve never seen someone more in love with 808s than msft. It’s not just a passion, it’s more like a maniac relationship which is able to give birth to pure and beautiful creations. With its driving sound design and the exquisite minimalism, ‘FML’ is the latest outcome of this weird infatuation. Although it’s something that your ears could associate to Team Supreme’s vibes or Montell’s ‘opbounce’, its heart belongs way deeper in the underground scene where this Italian producer is making his way.
It’s not an easy task to tag msft, or to arrange him in a musical niche. If you dare, you can place him in the so called ‘studio-trap’ limbo but he doesn’t preclude himself to any path. Indeed, after experiences with ‘Hack Records’ and ‘The XXX’ network, he has chosen to partner with the affine newborn EVANE Collective, a new stronghold for music experimentation, consecrated to “crossing conventional borders and standard genres in order to breed a surreal, iconic definition of music, into the realm of the unknown”.
