PREMIERE: JUXTE Re-imagines Drake On Debut Release ‘i’ve loved and i’ve lost’

by Colin

One of our main goals at FUXWITHIT is to constantly break new music. Today’s premiere embodies this vision to the fullest. ‘i’ve love and i’ve lost’ is the debut release from unknown producer JUXTE. Little is known of his identity; his social channels just started up and contain almost no content or followers. But I don’t expect this to be the case for long. His debut release draws inspiration from Drake’s ‘Take Care’ and re-imagines it into an emotive future beat journey. In doing so it possesses an instant familiarity but still feels as fresh as a spring breeze. The lyrics are gone yet the emotion seems to delve deeper. Faint vocal bends create a sense of longing, while steel drums and warm keys conjure a wave of optimism. ‘i’ve love and i’ve lost’ is an addictive tune that’ll stick in your head and keep pulling you back for repeat listens. It’s the first release in JUXTE’s upcoming The SIX series. He’ll be dropping a track a week for the next 6 weeks. The common thread? Drake inspired them all.

We spoke with JUXTE to get a deeper insight into the series, “Like him or hate him, it’s hard to deny that Drake has been a huge influence on the current music landscape. With ‘The 6IX’ I aimed to reinterpret what’s so familiar and iconic into something completely new and different, yet still retaining the essence of the original. The idea was initially sparked by Virgil Abloh’s ‘The Ten’ collaboration with Nike, and I loved the idea of these classic sneakers being reinvented into something wholly distinct.”

Listen to the track below and be sure to follow JUXTE so you don’t miss the rest of the series.
