Toronto-based DJ/producer/drummer hey! dw drops her new single, ‘The Rhythm’, and along with it comes a unique music video which takes a bit of a mind-melting turn as it progresses.
The song itself is a groovy and minimalistic house tune, with low-riding synths that softly bump their way through the track. The heavy, bass-ridden voice urging the listener to “listen to the rhythm, listen to the beat” helps bring dw’s drumwork into the spotlight, particularly in the way she seamlessly rolls the snare.
