Black Tiger Sex Machine is showing no signs of letting up on their pledge to dark electro with their latest single ‘Zombie’ ft. fellow Québécois, Panther, off their newest album, New Worlds.
New Worlds was inspired by BTSM’s idea that music is a journey, they explained in an Instagram post. They excitedly wrote that, “New Worlds encapsulates that idea. It’s an album about discovering and exploring new horizons”.
The freshest single shows their evolution in sound while demonstrating BTSM’s lasting affinity for all things dark, supernatural, and chaotic. ‘Zombie’ has a thick and frothy center, where the bass really rages, and the distorted synths bring a devilish grin to all those who hear it. In the breaks between Panther’s catchy-creepy lyrics are washes of angelic howls, and a lurking, growling bass. Powerful snares drive this up-tempo, yet haunting banger. Fans can pre-order the album now on iTunes and receive ‘Zombie’ instantly.
This is just the tip of the excitement when it comes to BTSM. The masked, Montreal-based trio is expected to kick off their Ceremony tour the same day New Worlds drops on their label Kannibalen Records, March 2nd. Be sure to turn out for any of the 20 stops listed here , not just to see BTSM’s live, special audio-visual experience encompassing a custom built stage synchronized to their infamous tiger Helmets, but their label-mates accompanying them on tour: Apashe, Kai Wachi, King Sullivan, and Lektrique.
