Killy’s ‘Surrender Your Soul’ is here

by Kash

The kid from the East End of Toronto dropped his debut and it’s pretty damn great.

On February 8th 2017, Killy dropped the video for ‘Killamonjaro‘ and overnight a star was born. The song itself is a pure banger with hard hitting drums and a melody that will stay in your head forever. Combining that with Killy’s fast paced flow, it was the first of many tracks that propelled his career. Hailing from Scarborough, Killy is one of the best acts in the game – just ask the kids.

A year and a month later, Killy dropped his debut Surrender Your Soul and it is exactly what you would expect and want from the Toronto rapper. Killy’s ability to craft melodies over hard hitting drums is reminiscent of Travis Scott but further to that, there is this underlying influence from rock music which helps him carve his own lane. In an effort to create buzz for the album, Killy dropped ‘Very Scary’ which if you ask me, should have been on the album. ‘Very Scary’ is another example of what this kid is so good at (see above for the video).

Surrender Your Soul features 10 tracks, 2 of which are familiar to those who have followed Killy for the past year. Check our the album below! Surrender your soul to the YYZ!
