Protocol Recordings Brings the Vibes with Miami 2018

by FUXWITHIT

Nicky Romero‘s Protocol Recordings is gearing up for another springtime shindig, and brings with it Protocol Vibes: Miami 2018 – a 2-part compilation showcasing some of the imprint’s featured artists!

For this week’s part 1, Maximals kicks off the EP (and the party) with an arm-raising festival anthem, ‘Don’t Know Where’, capable of shaking up the dancefloor, especially given its high-energy synths and thumpin’ bass kick. Following closely behind is Mosimann‘s ‘Babtoo’, a backbeat-emphasizing, energized electro bouncer, which shows off its hip-hop roots with some select record scratches, as well as proclaiming everyone’s love for rappers. Jakob Trice brings a tropical flair to the EP with ‘Ogien’, to help usher in the longer days and warmer weather – which are slowly yet assuredly approaching.

There’s a general theme of funk/groove throughout the EP, save the closing track by Metrush, ‘Upside Down’ – it has mystical, 80s synthwave vibes to it, which can’t help but bring Stranger Things to mind as you traverse through the track to close off part 1.

If you’re heading to Miami Music Week soon, South Beach’s ORA Nightclub is going to play host to Nicky Romero & Friends! The Protocol crew will be taking over the club, and the night will feature the likes of Breathe Carolina, D.O.D, and Raiden, as part of its all-star roster. You can grab tickets and RSVP to help prepare for an unreal spring break!

Part 2 of Miami 2018 releases next Friday (16 March), so keep an ear out for its release.
