There was a time I used to follow Chuck Sutton for his great freak music. Now all I care about are his gorgeous shirts. Seriously, if you aren’t familiar go, stalk the man on his socials and have a look, his outfits are simply the best. Anyways, I was lying of course, the binomial Chuck-Sutton is first and foremost an emblem of crazy good music. This is not by chance, in fact, across the SoundCloud community he has gained many prestigious titles the like of “master of switchup,” “chop king,” “professional hypnotist,” “living definition of ‘off the wall,'” and “the one who’s subs hit harder than a cocaine octopus on a Tuesday” (you know, the web is weird).
After receiving some really nice words from the don Deadmau5 himself and after an intense expedition at this year’s SXSW, he just dropped a brand new self-release, packed with a further dose of vocal chops ready to be enjoyed at the first Spring warmth. ‘Somebody’ is like a crazy roller-coaster ride that at every twist takes you to experience the ridiculousness of Chuck’s talent in its highlights. You jump from the, perfectly mixed, immense 808 bassline, to a shifty, light flute, cleverly fitted inside the intricate vocal pattern, to a even more shifty groove that, like a precious spice, blends and puts extra flavour into the composition. Now to the heavenly breakdown, which finally offers you the inner peace.
You can grab ‘Somebody’ for free or through a volunteer donation that will help Mr. Sutton with his incoming musical projects.
