Beyond genres or styles, a wider parameter of distinction I use to sort music is the the impact it has on my inner-self. I mean, there are songs that fit exactly in the mood I’m in at a specific moment, that connects with the flow of my emotions, amplyfing them in a more complete experience. And then there are songs that instead bring a radical swing to the situation, building from zero their own world. 92elm and Max Fry’s latest joint-venture is precisely a great and clear example of the last kind.
When it kicks in, ‘Charm’ makes a clean sweep of every other noise around you, it freezes any idea, thought, anything. It’s like the life and the world are paused and everything all around you falls into a stasis, covered by a golden light. A sense of peace and harmony spread in every direction bringing, for 3 brief minutes, a slice of paradise on our anguished planet.
