The trap king is back. As UZ gears up for the release of his sophomore album The Rebirth, he’s blessed fans with a free EP of the B-Sides. The four track offering is a must for fans of his Trap Shit series as it sees him going back to his roots; making stripped-down trap heaters. No vocals, no features, no collabs, just that raw UZ knock. The project kicks off with ‘Heart,’ a familiar instrumental for anyone who been bumping his recent 21 Savage flip. From there ‘Violence’ gives us a clinic on snare rolls and snappy drum programming while ‘Smoke’ takes a hazy direction with some dope low end. Saving the best for last is ‘Pick A Ball.’ It’s hypnotic from the outset and keeps you locked into its sound. By pulling away elements it only serves to further captivate your focus and make the drops that much more sinister.
